Many well-known football players themselves can be seen sporting tattoos. Soccer star David Beckham who is representing England in this years world cup has a few tattoos. Apparently he misspelt his wife's name on his latest tattoo which was written in Hindi script. The tattoo on his left forearm is incorrect according to Hindi language experts. The tattoo spells Victoria with an added "h" as Vihctoria who was better known as 'Posh Spice' from 1990's band the Spice Girls.
The English player reportedly decided to have his wife's name written in Hindi script because he felt it would be less "tacky" than having it in English. The footballer already has two tattoos - one of his son's name Brooklyn in gothic script on his lower back and an avenging angel on his neck and shoulders.
Christian Vieri, an Italian soccer (or football) player also has tattoos written in kanji on his right arm. According to Vieri he Vieri went to a tattoo parlor, but "they did not tell me the characters' meanings. I picked these because I liked their look." Vieri was pleasently surprised when he discovered the meanings of the characters which say "strength, eternity, thunder"
Other well known (and not so well known) footballers with tattoos include Swedish pin-up soccer star Freddie Ljungberg who sports a tattoo of a black panther on his abdomen which was made famous by his Calvin Klein ads and Harry Kewell who represents Australia in this years World Cup who has a tribal tattoo on his right hand.
